Projects in Preschool

This past week, we have been very busy in preschool.  We have read many stories and worked on many projects.  The students loved painting this week.
We also worked on counting to 10 by making a 10 scoop ice cream cone.

Counting in Preschool

This week we have began our focus on counting and numbers.
One of the favorite stories from this week was Mouse Count by Ellen Stoll Walsh.
Abigail, Cameron and Ryan all said that they liked the snake in the story.  Especially, when he was putting the mice into the jar.

Below is a list of different counting activities that you can have your child do at home with you:
  • Count the silverware and plates as they put them on the table for dinner.
  • Have them count toys as they are picking them up.
  • Go on a number walk in your neighborhood.   Have them look for different numbers on houses and cars as they walk or have them count different items as they walk.
  • Sing different counting rhymes with your child.

Washington Family Fun Night

Washington PTG is hosting a family fun night on Tuesday, January 17th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  As part of the fun night, they will be having a silent auction.  Each class has been asked to make a basket for the auction.  Our preschool class has chosen the theme "rainy day fun" for their basket.  We are asking for any donations that we can add to the basket.  Some ideas might be card games, movies, games, coloring books, or anything that you would be able to do inside on a rainy day.  Donations for our basket need to be collected by Friday, January 13th.  If you are able to donate to our class basket, we would greatly appreciate it.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you,
Miss Brandi

Our Holiday Movie and Pajama Party

Before school let out for holiday break, we had a movie and pajama themed holiday party.  The students loved wearing their pajamas to school and enjoying a festive movie in the classroom.  The students enjoyed unwrapping a gift and eating holiday treats!
