Exploration through centers

Students have been exploring through play centers in the classroom.

Students in the dramatic play center are experimenting with different roles through play and working on cooperation skills with peers and adults.  These students are also able to explore and learn about different cultures in this center.

Students in the discovery center are exploring, examining and experimenting with different materials.

In the block area, children are able to construct, create and represent experiences, interact with their peers and develop their large and small muscles.

In our reading center, children are learning about written print, exploring new words through print and pictures, learning how to take care of books and developing their language skills.

In our art center, students are experimenting with different mediums, expressing themselves through their creations and developing their motor skills.

At our toys and games center the students are using problem solving skills, experimenting with constructing and instructional materials and working on the social skills of sharing and turn taking.
